Transfer to Purdue Agriculture

Nearly 15% of our undergraduates here in the College of Agriculture are transfer students from other colleges & universities.  Please see below for additional information for some of the more common transfer paths to Purdue Agriculture.

Note: Links are included below for specific transfer agreements (e.g., Articulations & Memorandums). These transfer agreements currently exist between the institutions listed and Purdue Agriculture. Basically, these agreements are excellent opportunities for you to follow 1 plan to earn 2 degrees!

Scholarships

The following scholarships are available to transfer students. To apply for scholarships, click on the scholarship name to open the application. Make sure you have your college transcript to load to the scholarship application.

  • Transfer to Purdue Ag Scholarship
    The Transfer to Purdue AG Scholarship is given to transfer students for their admitted academic year to Purdue University College of Agriculture.  The award amount is $1,000 and is non-renewable. The number of scholarships given will vary each year. To be considered for this scholarship, transfer students must have a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. at their current or previous higher learning institution.  Transfer students who are admitted must complete the application and submit their current transcripts by April 15. 
  • Robert L. Fuller Vincennes University Transfer Scholarship
    For Vincennes University Agriculture-related major students planning to transfer to Purdue University College of Agriculture with six or fewer hours remaining for the Associate in Science degree. Minimum 3.50 GPA is required. The order of preference is given to those applicants planning to major in Horticulture, Agronomy, General Agriculture, or Agricultural Economics. This scholarship is sponsored by the late Robert L. Fuller, a former Extension educator and horticulture teacher at Vincennes University. To be eligible, students must complete the online scholarship application each year. The deadline to apply is February 1.
  • William 'Doc' Treese Memorial/Purdue Ag Alumni Fund Scholarship in Agriculture
    For transfer students from Vincennes University to the College of Agriculture. All VU transfer students are eligible for the award, regardless of their county of residence. Minimum GPA is 2.65. To be eligible, students must complete the online scholarship application each year. The deadline to apply is February 1. This scholarship is sponsored by the Knox County Purdue Ag Alumni chapter in memory of William 'Doc' Treese, a long-time Purdue Agronomist.
  • Murchison Heritage Scholarship
    As a Black Hawk College transfer student, this is a specific scholarship you might be interested in sponsored by Dr. Marshall A. Martin and Dr. Berdine R. Martin. Preference is for students transferring to Purdue University College of Agriculture from Black Hawk College East Campus in Galva, IL. Scholarship is renewable provided the recipient maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA and continues to meet the eligibility criteria. To be eligible, students must complete the online scholarship application each year. The deadline to apply is February 1.
  • Halderman Farm Management Scholarship
    As an Ivy Tech transfer student, this is a specific scholarship you might be interested in sponsored by Halderman Farm Management Service. This is a merit-based scholarship for Purdue University College of Agriculture undergraduate students who have transferred from Ivy Tech Community College or other 2-year Associate Degree Program affiliate who have the intent to obtain a Bachelor's degree in the College of Agriculture at Purdue University. To be eligible, students must complete the online scholarship application by it's due date for the next academic year. The deadline to apply is February 1. 
  • Hallar Opportunity Scholarship in Agriculture
    As a transfer student, this is a specific scholarship you might be interested in sponsored by Mr. James Hallar. This is a scholarship for Purdue University College of Agriculture undergraduate students who have transferred from another institution. Preference is given first to Indiana students who have financial need, followed by students who participate in Purdue Musical Organizations. To be eligible, students must complete the online scholarship application by it's due date for the next academic year. The deadline to apply is February 1. 


Important Scholarship Application Notes:

  • The Transfer to Purdue Ag Scholarship requires a separate application and is due by April 15. 
  • Prospective transfer students do not have to be officially admitted to apply for College of Agriculture scholarships. 
  • To be considered for College of Agriculture scholarships for the following academic year, prospective transfer students must be officially admitted to Purdue by February 1.
  • The Transfer to Purdue AG Scholarship requires a separate application and is due by April 15
  • Transfer students are awarded College of Agriculture scholarships by May 1.
