The Plant Growth Center—housed across three buildings on the Ag campus, including Whistler Agricultural Research Building—has plant growth chambers, light racks, and greenhouse tables available for Purdue scientists’ use.  [Information]

The Genomics Center applies state-of-the-art genomics technologies to the development of sustainable agriculture. Purdue Genomics is an integrated approach to genomic sciences. Three components—laboratory, database, and computation—provide the infrastructure for research, teaching, and Extension. [More Info]

The Life Science Microscopy Facility supports research on microscopic and submicroscopic structure of biological and physical systems. Its main functions are to provide equipment, training (SEM and TEM courses), space, and advice so that researchers can conduct their research efficiently. It is available to students, faculty, postdoctoral staff, and service staff, and both multiuser and service options are available.

Capabilities include light microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, computer-based image analysis, photographic processing, and digital printing, ultramicrotomy, critical point drying, vacuum evaporation, sputter coating, and histological and cytological specimen preparation. Staff can assist researchers with expertise in a wide range of specialized preparation techniques, including immunocytochemistry and freeze substitution.

The Life Science Microscopy Facility is a core facility within the campuswide Purdue Electron Microscopy Consortium and administered through Horticulture and Landscape Architecture. An advisory committee of faculty from the Colleges of Agriculture, Science, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine provides direction on facilities and procedures.
